Of these patients, a large percentage are women – in part because conventional ECG criteria fail to recognize that a woman’s heart is physiologically different. To help improve detection of AMI in female patients under age 60 and lower the costs associated with delayed diagnosis and treatment, GE Medical Systems Information Technologies has developed new gender and age specific interpretation criteria which has been added to its gold-standard 12SL ECG program.
