In the setting
of a post-operative knee, it is important to determine
the exact nature of the surgery that was performed
and the type of injury considered. In the case of
a prior ACL repair, for example, the above imaging
protocol should produce excellent results. However,
if the patient has had a prior partial meniscectomy
or articular cartilage repair, or known osteochondral
defect, MR arthrography may be useful.
