Michael is the Executive Vice President, Business Development, for GE Healthcare based in the United Kingdom. Michael is responsible for developing GE Healthcare’s overall strategy, and identifying and executing merger and acquisitions, investments and alliances in support of the strategic growth initiatives of the business. Michael joined GE Medical Systems (now GE Healthcare) in 1998 as General Manager, Global Business Development. In 2001, he was named to the expanded role of General Manager, Global Business and Market Development. In this role, he had the added responsibility for the Market Development Team in identifying growth opportunities for GE in new care areas. Prior to joining GE, Michael was a Director in the Technology Investment Banking Group at Prudential Securities in San Francisco, where he was responsible for communications technology investment banking and West Coast technology M&A activities. Previously, he spent nine years with Oppenheimer & Co., Inc. in New York and San Francisco, where he focused primarily on merger and acquisition transactions and equity offerings for a range of technology companies. From 1987 to 1991, he was a member of Oppenheimer’s Principal Investment Group that was responsible for the firm’s leveraged buy-out transactions. Michael graduated from Princeton University with an A.B. in Economics, cum laude, in 1987. Michael is a member of the advisory board for Galen Associates, a leading healthcare-focused private equity and venture capital investor. |
