The Tonometrics Catheter with biofilter and sampling line is used for the determination of gastric PCO2 (PgCO2) and intramucosal pH (pHi) of the gastric mucosal tissue.

All catheters are based on the same principle including a gas-permeable silicone balloon. Carbon dioxide freely equilibrates between the gastrointestinal wall, the lumen and the content of the balloon. A sample is drawn from the balloon and the PgCO2 is analyzed automatically with GE Healthcare Tonometry Monitors (Tonocap or Tonometry Module).

• A calibration gas, regulator and calibration gas sampling line is used to calibrate the S/5 Tonometry Module.
• A calibration gas and regulator are used to calibrate the Tonocap monitor via the EtCO2 monitoring port.
• A D-fend Water Trap collects the mucous secretions and moisture when measuring EtCO2 with S/5 gas module or Tonocap.
• An Airway Sampling Line is used to measure the EtCO2 with S/5 gas module or Tonocap.
• The Tonocap Monitor can be connected to a printer using a printer cable.
• The Tonocap Monitor can be connected to a PC using an interface cable.
• Collect Software is used for PC data acquisition.
