At GE Healthcare we make Molecular Imaging real

Because at GE Healthcare we wanted to make Molecular Imaging a reality, we had to gather and combine skills in biology, chemistry and technology. The merger of GE Medical Systems with Amersham plc creating GE Healthcare was a first step into this integrated strategy.

It provided us with skills ranging from basic life sciences and proteonomics to chemistry and engineering. We took, also, a collaborative approach in order to apply advanced molecular imaging technologies to pre-clinical and clinical in vivo, as well as in vitro validation of new therapies. And finally, we gained access to our isotope production, chemistry, informatics and services such as IMANET – our Imaging Network translating validated biomarkers into high specificity and non-invasive diagnostics, so that researchers may be able to cut the cost and time of developing new drugs and may bring them to the public more quickly.
