Spital Thurgau AG

As regards equipment, Spital Thurgau with its two locations in Frauenfeld and Münsterlingen, offers the entire range of medical radiology, with the exception of Positron Emission Tomography (PET):

  • Conventional radiodiagnostics
  • Mammography (incl. computer-controlled biopsies)
  • Ultrasound
  • Computed tomography (CT)
  • Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)
  • Nuclear medicine including SPECT

With the exception of certain special examinations this range of services is offered 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, the whole year round. In the Canton of Thurgau the entire gamut of radiodiagnostics is provided by Spital Thurgau AG round the clock.

The four previously non-independent, publicly owned Thurgau "Health Units", Frauenfeld and Münsterlingen Canton Hospitals, Thurgau Psychiatric Services and Thurgau St. Katharinental Clinic were separated off back in the year 2000 in the form of a company limited by shares.

Faster communication channels for the benefit of enhanced treatment

Computerisation in hospital administration has been an established integral part of the system for many years and it is now indispensable for meeting the growing demands, especially in documentation.

Intensified by the high cost pressure being triggered by more and more new legislation for cutting costs and restructuring in the healthcare sector the issue of process digitisation and the rising volume of images in radiology have become more topical than ever before.

Furthermore, powerful hardware, stable information systems and the spread of standards have made the digital support of workflow and digital availability of image data at Spital Thurgau AG absolutely essential.
