We have the pleasure to announce the introduction of our exceptional Nuclear Cardiology platform featuring the Alcyone Technology: Discovery NM 530c and Discovery NM/CT 570c. Harnessing four leading nuclear-imaging innovations, Alcyone Technology has the ability to reduce scan time, while increasing diagnostic confidence and efficiency, and the potential to open new perspectives in Nuclear Cardiology. Alcyone Technology combines Cadmium Zinc Telluride (CZT) detectors, focused pin-hole collimation, 3D reconstruction, and stationary data acquisition, to improve workflow, dose management, patient care and overall image quality. The use of a similar technology in our pre-clinical eXplore™ speCZT/CT imaging system demonstrates the potential to enable new clinical applications with the Alcyone Technology, including 3D dynamic acquisitions and simultaneous dual isotope imaging. There would be a huge possibility to determine a new appropriateness and clinical value for Nuclear Cardiology. With conventional nuclear cardiac imaging, a patient must hold its arms above its head for two scans of 15-20 minutes each. With the Discovery NM 530c, the scanning time is reduced to 3-5 minutes for each scan. This reduction in time can help to reduce patient movement due to painful or uncomfortable positioning, causing artifacts in the scan. A shorter, more comfortable scan has the opportunity to improve image quality, allowing clinicians to be more confident in their diagnosis. |

Discovery NM/CT 570c is the integrated version of the Discovery NM 530c with the LightSpeed VCT™. It has the ability to perform a complete functional and anatomical cardiac assessment in less than five minutes. The Discovery NM/CT 570c also shortens acquisition times, improves dose management , and enables more convenient patient scheduling in comparison to two separate, conventional SPECT and CT exams.
