Oncology – Comprehensive solutions for lesion detection and perfusion imaging

Volume CT Perfusion can help in the evaluation of lesions and response to therapy. The 4 cm coverage of the LightSpeed VCT allows to cover
a large area surrounding the suspected lesion. CT is also a technique used for for lung nodule evaluation and shows potential growing interest in colon polyps assessment as a non-invasive technique.

Lung Analysis

Nodule detection, segmentation & follow-up. Lung VCAR application allows detection of pulmonary nodules with volumetric assessment. Furthermore it has the potential to calculate the proportion of tissue component, to assess the range of densities in other non-solid nodules and evaluate their evolution over time.

Virtual Colonoscopy

Non Invasive Polyp assessment & follow up. Colonography application (CTC) offers the ability to display the entire colon wall and lumen based on both 360° auto-dissection view with the simultaneous fly-through of endoscopic images. Polyps are quickly bookmarked and then automatically displayed in synchronized 2D and 3D windows for measurement and characterization.

Volume Helical Shuttle

covers up to 500 slices for 4D CTA Volume Helical Shuttle is a continuous bi-directional scan mode that extends z-coverage. GE’s exceptional Dynamic Pitch reconstruction method utilizes acquired scan data during table acceleration and deceleration rather than only during constant table speed. A 500 slice 4D-CTA dynamic study can be performed to characterize the inflow and outflow of contrast in the arterial and venous system, yielding high-resolution volume coverage over a length of 312.5mm. In addition, Volume Helical Shuttle allows you to perform perfusion studies for the brain (up to 120mm) and body organs (up to 140mm).

CT Perfusion

Perfusion parameters displayed in color maps such as Blood Volume, Blood Flow, Mean Transit Time, Area Under Curve and Permeability Surface Index can help you define low contrast loads, tumor response and/or organ status. This allows a quantitative approach to provide information to help in in your determination of normal from pathological tissue.
