It starts to become a tradition! This year GE Healthcare Lunar Densitometry will again participate in the ECO event in Amsterdam from May 6-9, 2009. GE Healthcare will be present at booth #33: A unique opportunity to demonstrate the advantage of the DXA application in obesity management and to show the latest breakthroughs in body composition assessment.

GE Healthcare is also hosting a satellite symposium “Lunar DXA: Shaping Health and Human Performance” chaired by Dr. Steven Heysmsfield on Friday, May 8 from 18.00 to 19.00

About the European Congress on Obesity (ECO) [1]

The number of people who are obese is rising rapidly throughout the world, making obesity one of the fastest developing public health problems of our time. Obesity is now seen as a major political and health issue in Europe and the European Congress on Obesity (ECO) provides an essential platform for discussion on the latest scientific developments in the field. The objectives of the ECO are:

  • To provide an annual forum for the dissemination of information about state of the art research in the field of obesity
  • To foster the identification of innovative preventive and treatment strategies to reduce the prevalence of obesity and its associated burden of diseases
  • To provide networking opportunities for experts in the field of obesity research and management
