GE Healthcare's bacterial and viral filters help provide effective protection against various types of particles including bacteria, viruses, water droplets and dust from CO2 absorbers. The filters help protect the patient, the equipment and the breathing circuit from contamination.

GE Healthcare bacterial and viral filters are manufactured in a lightweight, transparent material, which helps allow patient secretions or abnormal condensation to be easily seen. The filter media is made of permanently charged hydrophobic fibers that help enhance particle capture efficiency and give a low and stable breathing resistance, even when wet. All materials are carefully selected to be environmentally friendly when incinerated. The filters are designed to help facilitate connection to different ventilators and anesthesia systems.

GE Healthcare provides two types of bacterial/viral filters. Both are available with or without sampling port.

Uni-Filter Family

The Uni-Filter without sampling port has a very low breathing resistance and is used mainly as an expiratory/inspiratory machine filter. In applications with a patient proximal position of the filter, the Uni-Filter/s or Uni-Filter Junior are preferred because of their lower dead space and lighter weight.

The Mini Filter/s is small enough that two of them can used as machine-proximol filters mounted on the Datex-Ohmeda ADU Carestation compact absorber block.
