Omar is the President & CEO of GE Healthcare Systems, a diverse set of technologies consisting of GE’s Computed Tomography, Ultrasound, Monitoring Solutions, Magnetic Resonance, Molecular Imaging, Interventional, X-ray, Life Support Solutions and Home Health businesses.

Omar's technology leadership and business acumen have been instrumental in positioning GE to become the world’s leading provider of Ultrasound systems and services. Under Omar, the Ultrasound division has delivered a continuous stream of innovation, expanded into new clinical applications and dramatically broadened global distribution to achieve annual double-digit growth since 1995. Omar was promoted to Vice President and Officer of the General Electric Company in 1999, and was appointed President and CEO of Clinical Systems in 2005.

Omar joined GE with more than 13 years of technology development and business management experience, holding leadership positions including Senior Vice President of Worldwide Marketing and Product Development, Elbit Ultrasound Group and various product development and engineering positions at Philips Ultrasound.

He earned a Bachelor of Science Degree and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of London, King's College.

Omar is a member of the board at The Blood Center of Wisconsin and also on the Health Leadership Council of the Save the Children Foundation.
