Vishal Wanchoo, Vice President, Radiology Systems, GE Medical Systems Information Technologies
This year's RSNA conference marks a significant milestone for a new era in radiology workflow.

GE Medical Systems Information Technologies is excited to introduce GE Centricity Information Systems-the biggest advancement in productivity for radiology departments since PACS itself. GE Centricity represents the full integration of PACS and Radiology Information Systems, or RIS. Together, this can mean saving literally thousands of hours per year with productivity improvements for radiologists and technologists.

You know, we've all seen how PACS alone improves productivity. Within six months, we typically see report turnaround time reduced by almost half and film usage cut by up to 80 percent.

But that's only the first step.

Productivity is still held back because the PACS and RIS are separate systems-two workstations, two user interfaces, and two databases. So when reviewing patient exams, you need to log onto the PACS, and then log on separately to the RIS. Really, it's a back and forth process that results in less productivity for the department, adding up to countless hours of time per year.

But GE Centricity changes all that.

It provides a single radiology application with one database and one user interface, all on a single workstation. So now you can log onto GE Centricity from inside or outside the hospital and view a complete patient profile, including medical history, the reason for the patient's visit, and information from the referring physician. Everything is in one place, so you have the information you need to make more confident decisions for patients.

Beyond productivity, GE Centricity promotes better patient safety. Images are automatically matched to the patients' record, so no manual matching is required anymore.

Plus, the system is easy to install and support through the use of Web-based technology. And in addition, it's based on completely open standards, leaving options open for future expansion.

At GE Medical Systems Information Technologies, we connect radiologists to information to patients.

We're pleased to offer GE Centricity Information Systems to help revolutionize radiology workflow.

It's Information at the Speed of Life.
