Ruben C. Berumen, President and CEO, GE Medical Systems OEC and General Manager, Global Vascular
Hello, GE's OEC and Vascular Imaging business welcomes you to RSNA.
This year has seen significant advances in imaging, not the least of which are the many successes with flat panel technology and the growth within the interventional segment of healthcare delivery.
We continue our nearly 50 year tradition of technology leadership with many exciting products designed to deliver innovative solutions to healthcare providers from orthopedics to cardiology.
Based chiefly on healthcare's need for enhanced visualization, GE continues to pursue new ways of delivering clearer imaging information, faster & more affordably.
As imaging plays an increasing role in the surgical environment, GE OEC continues its leadership through commitment to technology designed for the unique needs of the surgeon.
As traditional open methods have given way to minimally invasive procedures, surgeons look to us for high quality image guidance that is agile & accurate.
But surgeons also require equipment that is easy to use, reliable and sensitive to their economic pressures.
As you explore GE's offerings at this year's show, you'll see OEC's newest addition to the intraoperative imaging arena, the OEC FlexiView 8800.
Much like our other signature products --the MiniView 6800 for extremity imaging and the UroView 2800 for urology - the FlexiView 8800 continues the focus on Surgery. It is a new full-sized C-arm built on the Gold Standard OEC 9800 1k squared imaging platform.
The FlexiView carries the same ease of use features & image processing capabilities that have combined to make the 9800 the most sought after surgical solution in the market today. In addition, the FlexiView offers a more compact footprint and enhanced maneuverability especially suited to a crowded surgical suite.
In Vascular imaging, we continue to break technology barriers.
At this year's show, we are highlighting our single plane angiography system with 3D imaging capabilities, the Advantx LCA+.
As interventional caseloads continue to expand, this system's image performance for basic and advanced 3D applications is designed to bring enhanced productivity solutions to angiography.
This blend of technology breakthroughs continues in our Technology Pavilion at RSNA a new display area showcasing our works in progress.
One of the advances in the vascular business technologies you'll see is our XMR Fusion work, which holds great promise in the treatment of stroke. Another advance is 3D imaging for catheter and stent placement. The 3D promise continues in the surgical and orthopedic areas with bone reconstruction and 3D-fluoro tomography.
Building on the over 200 installations of the Innova 2000, GE remains the pre-eminent leader in flat panel technology. This leadership breakthrough is clearly the wave of the future in imaging. We're very excited at the possibilities for flat panel mobile imaging based on GE's leadership in this technology.
The improved image quality, size, and weight benefits that improve patient care will be a quantum leap in mobile imaging and the many surgical applications it serves.
We're excited to share these innovations & commitments to quality.
We look forward to meeting you when you take a closer look at GE's Surgery and Vascular imaging at this year's RSNA.
Thank you.
