Peter J. Arduini, General Manager, Global CT
INTRO Hello, I'm Peter Arduini, General Manager of GE's CT business... Welcome to RSNA 2001....again GE CT brings new exclusive products to this years RSNA. When GE Medical Systems introduced the LightSpeed QX/i in 1998, it revolutionized the way the world viewed CT. Then, LightSpeed Plus built on that success with enhanced performance capabilities. Now, GE again changes CT with LightSpeed Ultra.

LightSpeed Ultra delivers 16 slices per second, And gives clinicians the ability to scan twice as fast, twice as far and obtain slices that are half as thick. GE brought the first 4-slice scanner to the market. And now it's the first to go to 8-slice. A GE exclusive

DOSE reduction is a big focus of GE. The Ultra delivers at least 25% lower patient dose compared to world class four-slice scanners. And better pediatric exams are achieved with LightSpeed Ultra 's built-in pediatric protocols--based on a child's weight and height.

Quality has been a hallmark of GE CT. Built on the GE legacy of Six Sigma, 1,500 LightSpeeds are currently installed and running strong around the world. In fact, nearly 95% are still operating on the original tube.

With the Renaissance CT Applications GE is in the forefront ... GE's suite of new CT advanced applications help clinician assess an even wider range of patients. The new applications you'll see at RSNA 2002 are all available Today. These include CardIQ Analysis, Advanced Lung Analysis, Perfusion 2 and CT Colonography.

Let me briefly touch on each one.

CardIQ Analysis-- Multiple vendors have cardiovascular CT offerings, but GE's CARDIQ ANALYSIS is the ONLY tool that effectively enhances the cardiovascular tool kit. It's the most robust cardiac imaging application available--with unmatched post-processing and information management. It is the heart of the CT cardiovascular solution.

Advance Lung Analysis-- Our Advanced Lung Analysis application just received FDA clearance. Clinicians now have a highly accurate tool to track and measure the volume of lung nodules. With its 3D-volume measurement, clinicians can better see changes in tissue volume, which improves both patient diagnosis and patient care.

CT Colonography-- With CT Colonography, patients can have quick, accurate, noninvasive colon exam. This new applications benefits the nearly 80% of the population who physically can't or won't have an traditional colon exam.

Perfusion 2 now offers added functionality to conduct tumor perfusion and blood permeability studies in the both body and head.

Stop by the GE booth at RSNA and see our entire CT product line from CT/e to the LightSpeed Ultra. And see how lower patient dose and exceptional speed make LightSpeed Ultra the ideal Premium CT system.
