BUC, France and WAUKESHA, Wis., USA — GE Medical Systems, a business unit of General Electric Company (NYSE: GE), announces today the acquisition of the ultrasound distribution operations of VINGMED Svenska AB and VINGMED AS in Sweden and Norway, respectively. This acquisition will allow GE Medical Systems to improve its direct presence in Scandinavia and provide a full range of ultrasound products and solutions to customers.
"For over a year now, GE Medical Systems has been working to establish a direct sales and service capability in Scandinavia,” said Bengt Nielsen, General Manager of the Nordic European Region for GE Medical Systems. “We believe that our customers will welcome this strategic acquisition as it will allow us to offer the broadest diagnostic imaging product portfolio in the region.”
