GE Healthcare is now applying its leading clinical imaging technology to research tools for non-invasive small animal, or preclinical, imaging in order to deliver superior solutions for Molecular Imaging research. The eXplore series scanners includes the Locus micro-computed tomography (micro CT) for in vivo imaging, Locus SP micro CT for specimen imaging, Locus Ultra micro CT for dynamic imaging, Vista for small animal PET imaging and Optix for small animal Optical imaging. Together with the appropriate powerful and easy-to-use software, the eXplore small animal scanners can now provide researchers with the ability to acquire anatomical and functional images of in vivo disease models and intact tissue specimens at very high resolutions.

High-performance, Dynamic, Volume MicroCT
The eXplore Locus Ultra Pre-clinical CT scanner from GE Healthcare overcomes conventional microCT scanner dynamic imaging limitations and provides quantitative physiological measurements of tissue, tumor and organ function using perfusion. In fact, by combining GE’s breakthrough flat-panel detector technology and a powerful X-ray tube, the Locus Ultra enables dynamic studies with acquisition speeds similar to clinical CT systems.

Micro CT Software

Micro CT Software

The eXplore series micro CT software includes Windows based programs for Data Acquisition, Image Reconstruction, Visualization & Analysis of Micro CT images. Data Acquisition software (Evolver)provides drop down protocols, as well as, the ability to create user defined scanning configurations, all in a familiar graphical interface, that is easy-to-use and allows for the simple configuration of the system for a wide variety of micro CT imaging applications.

Image reconstruction software (Beam) maintains the easy-to-use graphical interface functionality, with the ability to provide the control of the image reconstruction process to maximize the efficiency of the micro CT system.

MicroView is a powerful visualization and analysis tool for micro CT imaging. 3-Dimensional volume viewing and robust data analysis can performed with MicroView, and the entire program can be easily downloaded and installed to any number of additional computers, on multiple platforms, to maximize the convenience and functionality of the system.
